Privacy Policy

What data voltgeber.com processes when you visit, why, on which legal basis, and the rights you have under the GDPR and California law.

Updated

This policy describes which personal data is processed when you visit voltgeber.com. In short: the site has no user accounts, no forms and no tracking cookies. What is processed is the technical access data of the hosting provider, cookie-free audience measurement and, only if you consent, data for serving ads.

2. Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, and delivered through a worldwide network of edge servers. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes the data that is technically necessary to deliver it: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, browser and operating system. This data serves delivery, security and error analysis and is deleted after a short period.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission apply in addition.

3. Audience measurement

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to learn which pages are read. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and builds no profile of an individual person. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Advertising

To finance the site we show ads through Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, for visitors in the European Economic Area, and of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, for visitors elsewhere. Ads are loaded only after you have agreed in the consent dialog. Without consent, no advertising cookies are set and no data is sent to Google.

With your consent, Google may set cookies and process data such as your IP address, device information and interactions with ads, including for personalization. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, in Germany, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw your consent at any time through the “Privacy settings” link in the footer. Details of Google’s processing are in the Google privacy policy.

Google and other advertising vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google in Ads Settings; other vendors’ opt-outs are listed at aboutads.info and, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.com.

5. Fonts and external content

Fonts are served from our own server. Opening a page establishes no connection to Google Fonts or any other font provider. Videos and other embedded third-party content load only when you click on them.

6. Contact by email

If you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer the inquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). The data is deleted once the inquiry is settled and no statutory retention period requires keeping it.

7. Your rights under the GDPR

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the authority responsible for your place of residence.

8. Note for California residents

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information. Where personalized advertising served after your consent counts as sharing under California law, the “Privacy settings” link in the footer is where you opt out. Requests go to kontakt@voltgeber.com.

9. Changes

We adapt this policy when the technology or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies; the date of the last change is shown at the top of the page.
